This year’s grant will make a direct difference for students across our programs. Funding will impact:

• Our Autistic Support Classroom Program including sensory tables and accessories, floor pads, furniture, ankle weights, weighted vests, and more
• School-wide resources such as sensory items, iPads, evidence-based curricula, and staff training and development benefiting students and educators at Pathway

The grant for our Autistic Support Classroom Program provided funding for a wide range of items including assistive devices, specific curriculum, specialized chairs and furniture, sensory swings, and other items tailored to student needs.

This year鈥檚 grant is helping enhance our Career Education Program by providing students with virtual reality headsets, giving them the opportunity to explore a variety of career paths in an engaging, virtual and immersive way.

The 2023-2024 school year was another amazing year at Pathway! Here are some accomplishments from this past school year:

• Our robotics team qualified for the Regional Championship for a second consecutive year!
• We graduated nineteen incredible students, of which 84% are employed and 11% are pursuing post-secondary education.
• Our new Autism Support Classroom for elementary-aged students had a very successful first year. This program received vital financial support through our first-ever grant from The Eagles Autism Foundation.

The grant funds, in the amount of $17,000, will be allocated towards purchasing essential items for the Autistic Support Classroom program, including specially designed furniture to create a safe and supportive learning space, curriculum products tailored to the students鈥� needs, and technology products to enrich the overall educational experience.

The new program was created in response to the rising demand for such classrooms and an increased rate of referrals for students in the region who face lengthy waiting lists at other schools. 91探花视频 responded to this need by assembling a dedicated team of professionals, including an Autistic Support Teacher, two Registered Behavior Technicians, and a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst. Together, they support students through curriculum learning, language development, classroom readiness, social-emotional skills, independence, life skills, and appropriate classroom behaviors.

91探花视频 is not only committed to meeting the individual needs of its students but also to creating a broader impact within the community. By introducing this innovative program and with the support of Eagles Autism Foundation, Pathway aspires to create a meaningful impact that resonates throughout the community and brings about lasting change in the lives of autistic students.

The main purpose of the Emergency Student Needs Fund is to provide anonymous assistance to the Pathway community, emphasizing the importance of privacy when seeking help. During the holiday season, we extended our outreach through a gift sponsorship program called 鈥淗elping Hands.鈥� Staff members generously sponsored families, purchasing gifts of their choosing within a specified budget. This initiative was created in hopes of bringing joy and warmth to Pathway families during a time that can be particularly challenging for some.

At the center of these efforts is our Resource Coordinator, Mary DiMatteo, working to ensure that every member of the Pathway community receives the resources needed to navigate their current situations. With a proactive approach, Mary plays a crucial role in connecting individuals with the support they need. At Pathway, we believe in the power of community, and these programs reflect our dedication to helping as many people as possible. Together, we strive to make a positive impact on the lives of those in need, embodying the spirit of compassion that lies at the heart of 91探花视频.

The mission of Pathway is to impart confidence in our students helping them achieve success here, in school, and as adults when they move on. Jack said that he has 鈥渢he keys鈥� to chase his dreams and achieve success for nearly 30 years because of self-confidence he developed here at Pathway: 鈥淭he biggest thing that I love about Pathway is that every teacher gives you an opportunity in life to grow and be more independent. They gave you confidence at a young age.鈥�

Shortly after graduating, he moved to upstate New York to work in maintenance at a camp in the Adirondacks. He then moved to Wyoming for a brief period to try a new interest: driving tractor-trailers. Realizing his true passion for working in maintenance, Jack returned to the area and worked at Notre Dame Academy for 18 years. He was recently given an opportunity to advance his career in maintenance at Gwynedd Mercy University. Here, he works on projects that include carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and general maintenance.

Jack recently reconnected with 91探花视频 at Homecoming this past fall. Jack knew he wanted to give back to the place where it all started for him. He has now become a monthly donor to 91探花视频 and is part of the new Pathway Success Partners program. This was a full circle moment for Jack as he now supports current students and helps fund state-of-the-art STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) curriculum, performing and visual arts programming, career education, and more.

In the past few years, our social worker/resource coordinator and other Pathway staff have learned of various hardships and crises that our students and their families have been facing. Challenges in the economy have also resulted in hardships for families in the Pathway community. For that reason, we created a special fund that is supported by donors and friends who care and want to help with emergency needs of our students and their families when they are faced with severe hardships or crises. This fund has helped students in need of clothing, winter coats, and hygiene products, a family facing food insecurity when a caregiver passed away, a student in need of temporary transportation support, families in obtaining important government documents so the students could obtain benefits, and more. These are just a few examples of the ways we strive to help our students and their families during times of great need.

You too can help with emergency needs like this by making a gift to our Emergency Student Needs Fund this year on GivingTuesday, November 29^th.
